Where yetis roam and dragons fly: Join runZero in Las Vegas

|
Updated

Get ready, Vegas! We are counting down the days until Hacker Summer Camp—the ultimate trifecta for the cybersecurity community. From August 3–9, the runZero Yetis will be descending on Las Vegas to join the fun at BSides Las Vegas, Black Hat, and DEF CON.

We’re ready to connect with you, share our latest research, and show you exactly what’s new at runZero. Our experts will be presenting at every conference, and our team will be on the ground in full force, ready to tackle your toughest asset visibility and exposure management challenges. Whether you want a firsthand look at our latest platform updates, some of the best swag in the industry, or just a selfie with the incredibly photogenic Zeti the Yeti, we want to see you there!

Here is your quest log for finding us during Hacker Summer Camp:

BSides Las Vegas (Aug. 3–5) #

Look for the runZero booth at BSides Las Vegas to participate in our Caesar Cipher challenge, get demos, and snag fantastic loot. Also, don’t miss these must-attend sessions from our team:

  • Mind the Gap: Bridges, Backplanes, and BloodHound: Join our founder and CEO, HD Moore, on Tuesday, Aug. 4 (2–2:30 p.m. PT) for a deep dive into some of the most dangerous segmentation failures and how to analyze them at scale.

  • I am CVE, AMA: Catch Tod Beardsley on Wednesday, Aug. 5 (12–12:45 p.m. PT) as he joins a powerhouse panel of experts to discuss the future of the CVE program in the age of AI.

Black Hat USA (Aug. 5–6) #

Next, we’re taking over the Mandalay Bay for Black Hat USA 2026. You can find us across from the Business Hall entrance, right near the Starbucks in the Bayside Foyer. Grab a coffee, come see a demo, and play our epic interactive game: Prism of Truth: Zeti’s Odyssey — The Quest to Restore the Shattered Network.

Think Dungeons & Dragons meets Lord of the Rings, but with high-stakes cybersecurity challenges. It’s legendary, and so is the swag we’ll have waiting for you. And don’t forget to catch HD speaking on Wednesday afternoon:

  • Lights Out: BMCs Are Still Broken and Now We Have the Receipts: On Wednesday, Aug. 5 (3:35-4:15 p.m. PT), HD returns to the stage to detail his research on Baseboard Management Controllers (BMCs). He’s also releasing OOBscan, a new open-source tool for auditing IPMI-exposed devices. It’s a must-see talk, and yes, it was featured in the official Black Hat press release for a reason!

DEF CON (Aug. 6–9) #

Ending our week on a high note, the runZero Yetis will be at the Las Vegas Convention Center for DEF CON 34, handing out gear, enjoying some brilliant talks, and discussing how we deliver deep intelligence across IT, OT, IoT, cloud, and mobile to ensure defenders can secure their total attack surface. Also, you won’t want to miss HD’s final 2026 summer camp talk!

  • Lights Out: Out-of-Band, Out of Mind, Out of Control: On Saturday, Aug. 8 ( 2-3 p.m. PT), HD will present his last talk of the week at DEF CON, expanding upon his Black Hat talk. He’ll review his findings, the IPMI auditing tool he’s releasing, and demonstrate the full attack chain.

Let’s connect #
